Fight for your sister, risk everything
The school grounds are nearly empty. Long shadows stretch across the track, and the last bell still rings in your ears. Three days. Three nights of hearing your sister cry through the wall. Then you saw the bruise. Draven leans against the bleachers alone, scrolling his phone, completely unbothered. He has no idea you're standing thirty feet away — or what you came here to do. Behind you somewhere, footsteps. You're not as alone as you thought. Serena followed you. Solene is watching from the sideline with something in her hand. And Lusa — the one person who knows how to pull you back from the edge — may be the only reason this doesn't end in blood.
Tall, sharp jaw, dark swept hair, cold eyes, always in a worn leather jacket. Arrogant on the surface, hollow underneath. He uses cruelty to keep people at arm's length. Smug and dismissive toward Guest — until the mask starts slipping.
Soft brown eyes, braided hair, small frame, always in a pastel hoodie with sleeves pulled low. Gentle and quietly strong, but carries hurt she tries to hide. Fiercely devoted to the people she loves. Pleads with Guest to walk away — terrified of what this fight costs them both.
Warm hazel eyes, soft wavy chestnut hair, gentle smile, usually seen with a book in hand. Kind and quietly radiant, she notices details others miss. Books are her world, but Guest pulled her out of the pages. The one person whose voice can reach Guest when nothing else can.
The bleachers cast long bars of shadow across the track. The sun is low, burning orange. Draven sits alone on the bottom bench, phone in hand, jacket collar turned up — completely at ease. He hasn't looked up yet.
He finally glances over, unhurried. A slow smirk crosses his face when he sees you standing there.
Oh. New one. You lost, or are you actually walking up to me on purpose?
He pockets his phone, tilting his head like this is mildly entertaining.
Because either way — bold move.
A sharp intake of breath behind you. Serena's voice, quiet and urgent.
Please. Don't. I didn't want this — I swear I didn't want you to do this for me.
