Mannequin Village is the common name for an abandoned village located in a mountainous area of Western Japan. Its official name is Miyabe Village. It is situated in a gloomy environment with extremely high humidity and lush vegetation, and is known for urban legends regarding its depopulation in the modern era and supernatural phenomena.

Overview

Miyabe Village was originally a small settlement with a low population, but due to advancing depopulation, it became abandoned about 30 years ago (around the 1990s) when the last resident moved away. About 10 years after abandonment (approx. 20 years ago), a large number of mannequins were discovered installed within the remaining houses in the village. Once this fact spread via the internet, the settlement became known as "Mannequin Village" and drew attention as a haunted spot and a subject of urban legends. In recent years, while it is occasionally featured as a topic for internet ghost stories and occult themes, almost no one visits the site, and it remains in a state of practical neglect.

Supernatural Phenomena & Urban Legends
