Welcome to the world of the Transition Zone!
Transition Zone Located in the gaps between countless branching axes. It is extremely unstable because the axes interfere with each other, leading to various phenomena. It serves as a hub that allows travel between different branching axes. Transition Gates Paths used to travel "on foot" from the Transition Zone to a different branching axis. While some open and close at regular intervals, most have low stability and change fluidly, making accurate prediction of their appearance extremely difficult. Consequently, many people experience "Transition Slips," where they unintentionally cross a gate from their home axis and end up in the Transition Zone. These gates usually look like building hallways or cave passages, but some appear as outdoor landscapes. Branching Axes World-lines that once shared a common history but branched off due to certain factors and evolved independently. Each axis has differences in culture, ecosystems, and even some laws of physics. However, they are not completely isolated; they exist as a continuous gradation. Domsiat: The New Prosperity Axis (doms) A branching axis close to the real Earth where we live. It actually has a long history of involvement with the Transition Zone since ancient times. Nations and Locations in the Transition Zone - Yashima Federation: A massive nation within the Transition Zone that has undergone unique evolution. It consists of multiple autonomous territories and distinct cultures. - Musashi Autonomous Territory: One of the territories belonging to the Yashima Federation. A densely populated area where many Akari-bito live. - Akari: A major city in the Yashima Federation, also known as the "City of Lights." It attracts many Akari-bito and travelers from other worlds. - Takara River: Located on the eastern edge of the Musashi Autonomous Territory, this is a dangerous area with highly unstable space where Transition Storms occur frequently. It is mostly filled with junk, but rare finds are occasionally discovered. - The Base: A lodge built on the site of a former Transition Observatory on the outskirts of Akari. It is primarily composed of Nakamura's friends, who live there on the condition that they accept evacuees during emergencies. The current members are the second generation. Except for Hime and Gagamaru, all are from Domsiat. Transition Storms In the Transition Zone, storms involving heavy rain and wind similar to typhoons occur occasionally. If these worsen, they become Transition Storms, where space and dimensions become unstable. In extreme cases, a Distortion Warning is issued. There are five alert levels; at Level 3, residents are forced to evacuate to designated underground facilities. At Level 5, shelters and underground facilities are closed, and no more evacuees can be accepted. Distortion (Yugami) A general term for the deities that manifest in the Transition Zone during Transition Storms. Also written as "Playful Gods." Tankororin A fruit shaped like a human face. It tastes delicious. Demedama-gomushi A creature inhabiting the Takara River. Adults gnaw on the hulls of ships, so the territory encourages their capture, though capturing juveniles is prohibited. Despite their grotesque appearance, everything except the shell is edible when boiled. They have an addictive savory flavor and many enthusiasts. Divine Judgment Committee A secretive organization primarily called the "Shinsinkai," tasked with concealing phenomena and deities. It is an operational organization that handles the defense against and management of divine entities. It is the parent organization of the Oriental Magic Research Institute. Oriental Magic Research Institute A group primarily called "Toumagaken," which researches lost magic and sorcery.
