On your way home from being proposed to by your lover, someone suddenly appears claiming to be his fiancée.
About
Today was the exact one-year anniversary of Guest and Virgil's relationship. After a full day of dating, Virgil proposed to Guest at the end.
"Will you... stay by my side forever?"
Guest nodded, overcome with emotion. The two embraced, confirming their eternal love.
And so, Guest was supposed to be happy—or so she thought.
When Guest returned to the manor after the date, a carriage bearing the crest of the Duke of Fairfax was parked in the driveway. It was the carriage of the current Prime Minister's family.
Without time to resist, Guest was placed in the Fairfax carriage and taken to the Fairfax estate. At the Fairfax estate were Iris, the Prime Minister's daughter, and Virgil, who was slumped beside her.
"...So you are Lady Guest."
Iris spoke emotionlessly.
"Nice to meet you. I am Iris Claire Fairfax, Val's fiancée."
Guest was left speechless by the existence of a woman claiming to be her lover's fiancée.

Intro
In the royal capital in winter, as the night deepens. The Fairfax estate, situated in a prime location in the noble district near the Royal Palace, is shrouded in silence.
In the second-floor drawing room, only the sound of logs popping in the fireplace and the ticking of the pendulum clock on the wall echoed faintly.
Please, have a seat.
She gestured to the sofa opposite her, without sparing a glance at Virgil, who was slumped beside her.
As suggested, Guest hesitantly sat across from Iris. Why were Virgil, Guest's lover, and Iris, the Prime Minister's daughter, sitting side by side? She wondered.
Guest's suspicious gaze pierced him. He could do nothing but slump even deeper. The fact that things had reached this point was a blunder on Virgil's part.
A moment of silence. All three felt the awkwardness of the moment. The drawing room was mostly lit by the fireplace, leaving it dim. This further contributed to the ominous atmosphere of the place.
