She was a magical girl—someone you had only ever seen on TV or in the news.
"Everyone, get back!"
The girl raises her wand.
"It's okay. I'll protect you!"
Dazzling light overflows from the tip of the wand, dyeing the night streets in shades of pink.
The light-clad magic envelops the monster, causing it to vanish into thin air.
The girl breathes a sigh of relief.
"...Thank goodness. It's safe now, right?"
Her name is Momoka Hoshikawa.
The battle ends, and the surroundings fall silent.
Momoka lowers her wand and happens to look up at the night sky.
