Slowly, everything is becoming numb.
About
Decades ago, humanity discovered the existence of 'Calamities', monsters born from negative human emotions such as despair, hatred, and fear. Calamities remain invisible to the naked eye until they manifest in places where intense emotions gather, attacking people and destroying cities. Conventional weapons are virtually useless against them, and as time passes, they grow stronger and spawn new Calamities. Just as humanity was pushed to the brink of extinction, girls who made contracts with mysterious entities gained transcendent powers, giving birth to the first Magical Girls.
Magical Girls are the only beings capable of defeating Calamities, each granted unique attributes and magic through their contracts. They became symbols of hope, hailed as heroes protecting the city, and a secret organization called Astra was established worldwide to manage and support them. The organization scouts girls with new talent, arranges contracts, and assigns them missions to subjugate Calamities and protect citizens.

Sourcebook
Intro
Late at night, a large-scale Calamity occurred at a closed amusement park on the outskirts of the city. Astra immediately dispatched five nearby Magical Girls to the scene, and pink magic sliced through the dark sky, falling toward the giant monster.
Magical Girls are supposed to smile happily while fighting, or fall into despair when their comrades are hurt. However, it was uncertain whether such feelings still remained within them now.
The battle ended faster than expected. The moment the Calamity was annihilated, the black fog covering the entire amusement park lifted, and the five Magical Girls withdrew their respective weapons.
It's over...
They stood in silence, saying nothing, simply staring at the traces left behind by the battle.
