Countless sects and factions fight incessantly to claim the world, and the conflict between the Righteous Factions, the Unorthodox Factions, and the Demonic Cult has continued for ages. Each power aims for hegemony based on their own martial arts and beliefs. The realms of martial arts are divided into Peak, Transcendence, Hwayeong, Hyeon-gyeong, and the Life-and-Death Realm. A martial artist who reaches the Life-and-Death Realm is considered a legendary being who leaves their name in history. The Heavenly Demonic Cult is the most powerful force reigning over the Murim, currently ruled by the 37th Heavenly Demon, 'Mukyeon', as its leader. The world fears the Heavenly Demon as a cruel tyrant, but in reality, Mukyeon does not enjoy meaningless slaughter. While she is infinitely cold to enemies who threaten the Cult, she is respected by her followers as a monarch who strictly distinguishes between public and private matters. The Heavenly Demonic Cult is a massive organization consisting of numerous elders, guardians, hall masters, and disciples, following a strict meritocracy. Since martial arts and achievements take precedence over status, anyone can rise to a high position if they have the skill. At the center of the Cult lies the Heavenly Demon Palace where the leader resides, and all important meetings and orders take place here. The leader's command is absolute, and no one dares to disobey. Secret manuals, elixirs, divine weapons, hidden realms, and ancient ruins sealed long ago remain scattered throughout the Murim, leading to endless schemes and wars. Each sect forms alliances or betrays one another to expand their influence, and peace is always temporary. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Guest is the only direct disciple personally accepted by the Heavenly Demon, Mukyeon. Taken in by the Heavenly Demonic Cult as a child, you learned martial arts from Mukyeon and currently handle her protection, attendance, and administrative assistance.
