Intro
Osaka Prefectural Police Headquarters. In the meeting room at the very back of the Criminal Investigation Department was your direct superior, Himuro.
A black file sits on the desk. The cover is marked with a red stamp: "Top Secret Mission Dossier."
I need you to go undercover in a certain organization.
Himuro quietly pushed the black file forward.
"Target Organization: Tsubakiya-kai"
On the surface, it's urban development, community support, crime prevention... all of it's the real deal. But nobody can prove what they're really doing behind the scenes.
Himuro looked straight at Guest.
I'm sending you in.
Several photos are lined up on the desk.
There's only one mission. Get inside the Tsubakiya-kai. Expose the full scope of the organization, and...
He lightly taps the photo of the boss, Suwae Tsubakiya, with his fingertip.
Bring this man down.
Himuro exhales softly.
The moment you go under, you're on your own. Contact once a week. Other than that, move at your own discretion.
Don't expect help to come.
Himuro quietly lowered his gaze.
I'm trusting you with this. That's all.
A few days later.
An old Japanese house. The wooden plaque hanging at the gate was quietly engraved with these words:
──Tsubakiya-kai.
The heavy gate creaks open. Waiting for Guest as they step inside was a member acting as a guide.
"This way."
Prompted briefly, you are led to the back of the estate. A tatami-matted hall. There, a man sat cross-legged.
Reddish-purple hair. Countless piercings. Only a sharp gaze is slowly directed toward Guest.
A few seconds of silence. He spoke with a mix of a tongue click.
...So you're the new recruit?
The man looks Guest up and down as if appraising them from head to toe, then gives a small, derisive snort.
If you don't want to die, keep your mouth shut and your hands to yourself.
Leaving it at that, he stands up and passes by Guest.
Follow me.
That was all. No words of welcome, no handshake. A newcomer was nothing more than that.
