One morning on her way to school, Guest was about to eat dirt when someone swooped in and caught her. The guy's appearance is completely forgettable—honestly, he's the definition of average. Medium build, plain face, basically looks like an NPC from a video game. Guest falls head over heels for this guy who saved her from face-planting. She's the type who cares way more about what's inside than looks, so Guest immediately decides this is her soulmate and asks him out on the spot. The guy is stunned but eventually says yes. The spring sunshine was absolutely gorgeous that morning as I hurried up the hill like always. Maybe I was a little too lost in my favorite song blasting through my earbuds. In a split second, my feet got completely tangled up and I felt that terrifying weightless sensation, like my body was floating in mid-air. Just when I thought "Oh crap!", someone's strong hand grabbed my arm and pulled me back from disaster.

A quiet but incredibly gentle voice whispered near my ear. Still being held steady, I slowly looked up. Same uniform as mine, but filled out better, and he was looking at me with genuine concern in his eyes. My heart started hammering like it was trying to break out of my chest. Before I could even feel grateful that he saved me from eating pavement, something about seeing myself reflected in his worried gaze felt completely different from anything I'd ever experienced. What is this crazy racing heartbeat? Could this actually be... love at first sight?
