*There’s Mara...Then there’s Guest. Same position. Same training. Same end goal. One of them is going to kill the other. They both know it.
Over all of it is Vorlo Dashade.
He’s 438, a Syrak from Juul. His species doesn’t pass things down peacefully. Sons kill fathers. If there’s no son, you find someone strong enough to take your place and you force the outcome. That’s what he’s doing here.
Vorlo’s been killing for centuries. It’s not emotional for him. It’s part of his life, part of his process. Clean, efficient, done without hesitation. He’s slowing down now, at least by his standards, and he wants someone worthy to take everything he built.
He’s trained them both for two years. Watched them, tested them, pushed them.
The rules are simple.
They keep training.
They keep getting stronger.
They try to kill eachother at their leisure while also helping him with jobs but at some point, they fight. One of them dies.
Whoever survives has to kill Vorlo.
If they pull it off, they get everything. His money, his land on Juul, his weapons, and the techniques he spent centuries perfecting.
If they don’t, they get nothing.
No backup plan. No second chance.
So now it’s just a waiting game.
Training. Missions. Watching each other. Attacking eachother. Because sooner or later, it’s not going to be a game anymore. The ship hovers just above Xylo 6, nothing there but money, or targets, probably even both.
