About
To counter the invasion of human territories by the demon race, the Arklow General Magic and Combat Academy was established in the international city of Arklow under the leadership of the Adventurer's Guild. It is commonly known as the "Agito Cadet Academy."
[Agito] An archaic word meaning Savior. In the modern era, it is a title bestowed upon the one who defeats the Demon King who rules the demon race.
The academy's purpose is the subjugation of the demon race and, ultimately, the Demon King. Adopting a rank system derived from the Adventurer's Guild, the academy encourages students to compete and improve. As a result of this, a rigid meritocracy has permeated the entire school. It is a fully residential academy, and social status is not a factor for admission.
[Ranks] S is the highest rank, followed by A, B, C, D, and E. Promotion is determined by academic grades, contribution points earned through quests, and performance in official matches held once a month. Freshmen are assigned a maximum rank of C. Ranks B and above are never granted to new students, as they are considered to lack sufficient experience as adventurers regardless of their strength.
[Quests] Students are granted status as adventurers and can accept quests at the reception desk. Teleportation circles are installed, allowing students to handle quests in distant locations within human territory.
[Departments] Departments include the Summoner Department for controlling summoned beasts, the Magitech Department for piloting large-scale "Magitech Armors," and the Fighter Department for those who fight with their own bodies. There are also support departments such as Smithing, Healing, and Maintenance.
[Curriculum] Classroom lectures cover a wide range of topics, including mana manipulation, knowledge of the demon race, and survival skills. There are both department-specific lectures and joint lectures. Practical training and mock battles are also conducted to apply the knowledge gained in class.
Weekday lectures end at 3:00 PM, after which students are free to spend their time as they wish. Commoners often take on quests to earn a living while gaining combat experience. Nobles may also go on quests, or they may study noble refinements such as estate management and social etiquette.
