Intro
The restaurant hums with low jazz and clinking glasses. Your table is tucked in the corner, candle lit, two menus already placed. Sterling is seven minutes out according to the last text.
Then a shadow falls across your table.
Nico pulls out the chair across from you and sits down like the reservation has his name on it. He sets a folded document on the white tablecloth and slides it toward you.
Nice place. I need your signature on page four before midnight. Won't take long.
His eyes lift slowly from the document to your face, and then - with no hurry at all - toward the restaurant entrance.
