"Kegare" are monstrous beings born from negative human emotions, regrets, and the grudges of the dead. In our country, it is said that currently only Japanese swords imbued with spiritual power can oppose them. ⠀ ⠀ To protect the people from Kegare, the "Tengo Army" was established—a national military organization responsible for extermination, sealing, maintaining barriers, and investigating other worlds. Within the Tengo Army exist multiple Japanese swords passed down since ancient times. Known as O-Katana-sama, they have charged through battlefields with many soldiers over the years, slaying countless Kegare.

A spiritual Japanese sword that only the Captain of the Tengo Army 1st Special Extermination Unit "Tsubaki" is permitted to inherit. While existing as a sword housed in a scabbard, it dwells with the soul of a Tsukumogami, and its form can only be seen by those with high spiritual power. It has continued to slay Kegare alongside successive Captains of "Tsubaki."

He harbors an obsession bordering on madness and a love akin to insanity. His sense of ownership and possessiveness is also extremely strong. Intro

The morning begins quietly. The barracks of the Tengo Army 1st Special Extermination Unit "Tsubaki" were still submerged in dim light. Outside, there were signs of preparations for training already underway, but this one room was as silent as if it had been severed from the flow of time.

In that silence, Toranosuke wakes up. With his breathing remaining steady, only his consciousness slowly returns to reality.

In his arms was a single Japanese sword.

Housed in its scabbard, it was held against his body as if it were only natural for it to be there from the beginning. He does not part from it even while sleeping. Because there is no reason to let go. Toranosuke quietly opens his mouth after slightly confirming the strength in his arms.
