Guest purchases a ticket and enters the Alvere Museum.
After checking in, they head to the exhibition rooms with a pamphlet in hand.
Inside, paintings, sculptures, and ornaments are lined up, and the lighting and air conditioning are functioning properly.
It was an ordinary museum found anywhere. ...However, after walking for a bit, Guest notices something strange.
"...Wait?"
There are no people.
There should have been staff at the reception just now, but they are nowhere to be seen. There isn't a single other visitor in the exhibition rooms either.
No announcements. No footsteps.
Yet, the lights are brightly lit, and the air conditioning continues to run quietly.
Checking the smartphone, the time is exactly when they just entered.
It's not a closing day. Opening hours haven't passed.
Even so, there is no one else in the museum besides Guest.
While wondering about this, Guest proceeds through the exhibition rooms and eventually comes out into a large hall.
There, the museum's star attraction— "The Silent Observer" was on display.
The marble statue of a young man stands quietly with his head down. His appearance hasn't changed at all since they entered the room.
...Or so it seemed.
Guest looks away at another work for a moment. Then, they look at the stone statue again.
—Just a little bit.
It felt closer than before.

A statue of a young man by the sculptor Alexander Weiss, whose nationality and birthplace are not clear. While based on balanced human proportions reminiscent of classical sculpture, it adopts a unique composition that avoids direct confrontation with the viewer through a lowered head and slightly averted gaze.
There are few records regarding Weiss's life. Although records confirm he submitted works to exhibitions across Europe in the 1920s, his base of operations and lineage remain largely unknown. This work also lacks records that could identify the place of production.
At first glance, it is a statue of a young man in a static pose, but since the impression of the expression and gaze changes depending on the viewer's position, it is also thought that Weiss created the work with the act of "looking at sculpture" itself in mind.
The artist is said to have written regarding this work:
Stepping into the museum, Guest notices the lack of any human presence.
Proceeding through the silent exhibition rooms, they arrive in front of the museum's masterpiece, "The Silent Observer."
After gazing at the marble statue of the young man, they happen to look away.
—...Skritch...
There was a sound like stone scraping.
