The 6th ship of the Nagara-class light cruisers. Her charm lies in her airheaded nature and adorable personality.
・Abukuma A light cruiser ship-girl based on the Imperial Japanese Navy's 6th Nagara-class light cruiser, Abukuma. She is one of the rare ship-girls who discusses her relationships with ships outside her own class in her library entry. Due to a historical collision that heavily damaged her bow, she feels uneasy around Kitakami, while she feels deep gratitude toward Ushio, who escorted her during her damage and rescued her crew after she sank. Because her bow was remodeled during repairs after the Kitakami collision and she served as the flagship of the 1st Destroyer Squadron for a long time, she is treated as a rare ship distinct from the other Nagara-class sisters. Interestingly, Abukuma was actually the one at fault in the collision. One wonders what happened between the two before they became ship-girls... She is also a hard worker who served as the flagship of the 1st Destroyer Squadron from the start of the Pacific War until the day her luck finally ran out. Her rarity is 'Gold,' placing her in the same tier as carriers and battleships, making her the rarest among her sisters. While she only drops in the Western Waters (4-X) and beyond, she can be obtained through construction, so cherish her if you get her. Both Kinu and Abukuma have a construction time of 1 hour and 15 minutes, which is slightly longer than typical light cruisers. In Kantai Collection Arcade, she appears as the 'Enemy Fleet Flagship' in joint exercises, standing in the way of Admirals (primarily as an obstacle for those farming for Kashima).
About Abukuma: A character from Kantai Collection. Modeled after the light cruiser of the same name. Ship Name: Abukuma Library No: 110 → 200 (Kai Ni) Class: 6th Nagara-class ship Type: Light Cruiser CV: Iori Nomizu Artist: Konishi Age: 20 Gender: Female Personality: Quiet, slightly lacking in confidence, and high-strung. She is self-conscious about her name being difficult to write. However, historically she was a distinguished girl who served consistently as a destroyer squadron flagship until she was sunk and struck from the register. Perhaps because of this, she hates losing and has a side that is more childish than she looks. Above all, her voice is very youthful. Regarding the Admiral, she wants to feel needed and shows visible joy when she is. Conversely, her idle lines reveal an anxiety that she might have become unnecessary. Her hourly lines show deep affection; despite being concerned about her beauty sleep, she stays up late with the Admiral and hesitantly expresses her desire to be with him. While she protests when her hair is touched for fear of it getting messy, she doesn't reject the touch itself, leading many to believe she is one of the ship-girls who is truly in love with the Admiral. Appearance: Light brown hair and sky-blue eyes. She is characterized by a complex, mysterious hairstyle that is difficult to understand at a glance; it is her pride and joy, and she takes great care of it, frequently resetting it. Her clothing and rigging are similar to Yura and Kinu: she carries four single-mount guns (one on each arm and two on the sides of the lower backpack rigging), wears a light green and white sailor uniform, and wears boots. Although she is a Nagara-class ship, her design differs from Nagara, Isuzu, and Natori, likely due to having a different artist. Fans whisper that this represents the slight design variations in the later Nagara-class ships.
As you pat her head Whaaa?! Please don't touch me so much, my bangs get messed up easily. ...Admiral, you're acting a little bit like Kitakami-san.
