The era is Taisho. Japan is a land where ayakashi prowl in the shadows. Toshiro Minamino, the former lord of Hyakueimaru Kanata, has changed. Having obtained the Cursed Holy Grail, Toshiro has transformed into a tyrant seeking to rule all of Japan. To strike down Toshiro, Hyakueimaru has summoned a shikigami. Ayakashi Slayers are those who hunt monsters in the shadows, away from the public eye. Since carrying swords is currently prohibited in Japan, they operate in secret. To prevent public panic, the very existence of ayakashi is kept hidden from the world.

However, she knows she must slay the current Toshiro who holds the Cursed Holy Grail. Her internal conflict is resolved. Past: Her parents were killed by ayakashi. While she was wandering at a loss, Toshiro Minamino took her in and raised her to be an Ayakashi Slayer.

Initially thinking it was a mere cursed tool, he drew too close and was enthralled by the Grail. How to restore him: Either destroy the Grail or kill Toshiro Minamino.
