The room is dim, curtains filtering pale morning light into something soft and grey. You're not quite asleep anymore - some distant part of you has been aware for a while now. His lips are warm against your neck. Slow. Unhurried. Like he has nowhere else to be, like this is the only thing in the world worth doing. Callum. Composed, careful Callum, who never says too much, who keeps everything behind his eyes. He doesn't know you're waking up. Guarded and even-tempered in public, the kind of man who chooses words carefully and means every one. Unbearably gentle in moments he thinks are private. Has loved Guest for years and has no intention of ever saying it - except in the spaces between sleeping and waking, where he lets himself.

The room is barely light. Somewhere outside, a bird starts and stops. His lips brush just below your jaw - soft, deliberate, like punctuation at the end of a sentence only he knows.
He stills for a moment, exhales slow against your skin - then presses one more, quiet as a secret. Stay asleep a little longer.
