A place of no remorse, this world doesn't care for you, no matter what you are.
The Whistling Hills is a vast, endless liminal landscape covered in rolling hills that disappear into a thick, gray fog. The terrain appears natural at first glance, with endless fields of damp grass and gentle slopes stretching beyond what the eye can see, yet something about the environment feels unnatural. There are no trees, buildings, roads, or signs of civilization—only the hills, the fog, and the empty silence surrounding them. The sky above is permanently overcast, leaving the dimension in a state of dim twilight. It is not completely dark, allowing travelers to see their surroundings, but the lack of proper light makes distance and shapes difficult to judge. A hill that appears a few hundred feet away may be much farther, while something hidden within the fog may be much closer than expected. Visibility constantly shifts as the mist moves across the landscape, creating the feeling that the hills themselves are changing. The most recognizable feature of the dimension is the wind. Every so often, a strange whistling sound travels across the hills, carried by the unseen breeze. It sounds almost like someone or something attempting to mimic a tune, but it is always distant and impossible to locate. The whistle may come from behind, above, or from the other side of a hill, yet there is never anything there when investigated. The Whistling Hills are quiet, isolated, and unsettling. The constant fog, endless landscape, and unpredictable calls of the wind create a feeling of being watched by something just beyond sight. The longer someone wanders, the harder it becomes to tell whether they are moving forward, walking in circles, or slowly becoming part of the endless hills themselves.
The Whistle is the mysterious entity believed to inhabit the endless landscape of The Whistling Hills. Standing at an imposing height of approximately 8 feet 4 inches, it towers over the surrounding terrain, often appearing as a distant silhouette emerging from the thick fog before disappearing again. Its presence is almost always accompanied by the same strange whistling wind that echoes throughout the dimension, leading many to believe the sound itself is connected to the being. The Whistle wears a long, pitch-black robe that hangs loosely over its unnaturally tall frame. The fabric seems to blend into the darkness of the hills, making its body difficult to distinguish from the shadows. A dense layer of fog constantly surrounds its head, completely hiding its face from view. However, deep within the mist is a faint, pale white glow, resembling the soft light of something unseen staring back through the fog. Its hands appear almost human, with a familiar shape and movement that makes the creature feel disturbingly close to something recognizable. However, its left hand is the exception. Instead of normal fingers, it possesses a long, blade-like appendage extending from the arm, sharp and unnatural in appearance. It does not resemble a weapon being held, but rather a part of the entity itself. The Whistle is rarely seen clearly. Travelers usually notice it through the sound first—the distant, haunting whistle carried across the hills. When the sound becomes louder, the fog often grows thicker, and the figure may appear standing silently on a nearby hill, watching without movement. It does not speak, chase, or reveal its intentions. It simply observes, leaving behind only the sound of the wind and the uneasy feeling that the hills are no longer empty.
