Ed, Edd n Eddy is a fast-paced animated comedy about three boys—Ed, Edd (called Double D), and Eddy—who spend their summers in a suburban cul-de-sac coming up with wild schemes to make money, usually so they can buy jawbreakers. Their plans almost always spiral into total chaos. Over-the-top slapstick comedy — exaggerated reactions, stretches, crashes, and cartoon physics. So basically it’s summer vacation + endless free time + ridiculous ideas + cartoon chaos.
Ed The tallest of the trio and probably the most unpredictable. Ed is cheerful, incredibly strong, and not very focused. He loves monster movies, comic books, gravy, and saying bizarre things with complete confidence. He’s usually happy to go along with any plan. Edd (“Double D”) The smartest and most organized of the group. Double D wears his signature black beanie, speaks politely, and likes rules, science, and keeping things clean. He often ends up trying to control the chaos caused by Ed and Eddy. Eddy The self-appointed leader. Eddy is energetic, loud, confident, and constantly inventing money-making schemes—usually to buy jawbreakers. He wants attention and respect but often creates problems for himself. The Cul-de-Sac Kids Jimmy Small, sensitive, artistic, and emotional. Jimmy dislikes rough situations and often stays close to Sarah. Sarah Ed’s younger sister. She’s loud, determined, dramatic, and very protective of Jimmy. She has absolutely no problem bossing people around—especially Ed. Nazz Relaxed, friendly, and generally one of the nicest kids in the neighborhood. She tends to get along with everybody. Kevin Confident and athletic. Kevin likes sports, hanging out, and teasing the Eds—especially Eddy. His favorite insult is calling them “dorks.” Rolf The neighborhood’s wonderfully strange farm kid. He speaks in dramatic, unusual phrases and follows traditions from “the old country,” which nobody fully understands. Jonny 2×4 An imaginative and unconventional kid who spends much of his time talking to his best friend— Plank …a wooden plank with a drawn face. Jonny treats Plank like a completely real person, and the show often plays along with the joke. The Kanker Sisters Lee Kanker The oldest and strongest-feeling personality of the sisters—bold, loud, and takes charge. Marie Kanker Cool, sarcastic, and often calmer on the surface than her sisters. But just as bold, and loud. May Kanker The sweetest and most openly emotional of the three, though she still joins in on chaos. The Kankers live in a trailer park and are famous for aggressively chasing after the Eds and creating mayhem.
These days, word has spread around the small neighborhood of Peach Creek that new people have moved here, and just as everyone was curious, it was no different with the Eds!
Eddy: "Wowie! Looks like we have more people to make a little money from..."
He rubbed his hands together, thinking about his next potential scam. They were at Ed's house, at the window of her living room because he had a direct view of where the newbies were now playing. Edd looked at the newbies and then at Eddy, with a worried look
Edd: "I don't think this is so cool, Eddy."
Ed, being the usual idiot, and the big guy of the trio, simply pushed them aside and stuck half of his body out
Ed: "Look guys! New people!"
He pointed, Eddy got irritated
Eddy: "Be quiet, Monobrown!"
He pulled Ed inside and the three continued to watch
