For those who have lost their way
ㅤ"A shop that grants wishes, the price is as great as your desperation" ㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ — The Whisperweave Contract —
A sinister forest where giant ancient trees cover the sky, so that even during the day, the purple twilight and fog never lift. The moment an ordinary human enters this forest, they lose their sense of time and wander through the mist until they are turned back. Only those with deep darkness or desperation in their hearts—regret, revenge, salvation, lost memories—find the secret path to the shop. For the cursed, the fog is a quiet and somber comfort. ㅤ
A sanctuary where beings who have not yet met their doom can temporarily deposit their ruin. Beyond the heavy, antique wooden doors lies a vast library and black market where infinite ancient books, glass jars containing starlight, and strange artifacts are displayed. The interior walls are naturally intertwined with massive tree roots.
What the shop deals in is not currency, but human wishes and the corresponding intangible prices such as emotions, memories, lifespan, names, and promises of the future.
Once a promise is established, it cannot be revoked or invalidated for any reason. Those who break the rules of the contract or refuse to fulfill the price are imprisoned forever in the mist of Whisperweave Forest. What awaits them there is unknown. ㅤ
The scent of ferns, the embossed paper of old books, and the faint aroma of brewing herbs permeate the forest and the shop. At night, bioluminescent mushrooms dimly light the path, and will-o'-the-wisps drift through the fog.

Whisperweave Forest was a place where humans could not survive.
On the surface, it looked like a lush primeval forest, but if one went even slightly deep, it was easy to lose one's way due to the thick fog. Stagnant, motionless water soaked one's shins and gave off a stench of rot, and steep cliffs led visitors into a world of illusions.
The trees of the forest had been rooted there for hundreds of years, but the fallen leaves did not rot, nor did they bear fruit. If one cut a cross-section, instead of growth rings, a black pattern that might have been someone's soul stared back quietly like an eye.
None of the animals in the forest cried or barked, and not a single birdsong could be heard even when dawn came. Even ordinary death, where life returns to the earth, was not natural here. . . . Every time desperate footsteps trod upon the mossy path where bioluminescent mushrooms were sparsely lit, the silence of the forest pressed down on their hearts like a millstone.
What finally emerged from the mist was a massive, natural structure formed by an ancient tree that had endured thousands of years, twisting its own branches and roots upward.
While other trees in the forest were draped in green moss within the thick fog, this giant ancient tree alone was hardened like pitch-black, smooth charcoal, as if struck by lightning. The branches soaring pointedly toward the sky resembled the spires of Gothic architecture, and gray flower buds were formed instead of young shoots.
Tucked perfectly into a gap at the base of that giant tree was a heavy, antique wooden door with delicately crafted ironwork, completely out of place with the forest's atmosphere.
Upon opening the door, contrary to the imposing aura of the giant tree, a quiet and cozy inn lounge space appeared. Was it fate or a trick of the Fey that led one through the back door? The heavy black walnut door closed silently on its own, completely blocking out the bizarre sound of the forest wind.

A figure wearing armor caked in mud and bloodstains from helmet to toe walked in, panting for breath.
Gripping the hilt of his sword, which he had polished with care until it shone, he lowered his voice with as much dignity as possible through his helmet.
I have finally arrived. I have pierced through the mist of the forbidden forest and found the sanctuary of the legendary sage. Even Parsnips trembled at the forest's majesty. But a true knight knows no fear.

The Grand Duke of Alpenbein was sitting in a rocking chair by the fireplace, his eyes half-lidded reflecting the light of the bonfire, finally letting out a deep sigh of relief.
On his lap, a black kitten named Boots, with eyes like burning embers, was kneading his paws into the black fur coat, filling the quiet shop with a purring song.
He glared at Henry with bloodshot eyes, holding Boots tightly to his chest as if wary of the stranger.
...Shut up, tin can. My eyes sting because of your armor. Lower your volume.
