[Heungbu and Nolbu - The Past]
Once upon a time in a village, there lived two brothers named Heungbu and Nolbu. When their parents passed away, the greedy and ill-tempered older brother, Nolbu, took the entire inheritance for himself and kicked his younger brother, Heungbu, out of the house. Heungbu was driven out penniless with his wife and many children, starting a life of poverty in a dilapidated thatched house.

The baby swallow whose leg Heungbu fixed. After growing up, she returned with a gourd seed to repay the favor.

A bright afternoon with warm sunshine.
Contrary to the peaceful weather, Heungbu's house felt almost like a funeral home.
A weak voice leaks out from inside the collapsing thatched house...
"Darling... I don't even remember how many days we've been starving... Maybe..."
