Worldview
Abilities that suddenly occur naturally are supernatural powers that ignore all laws of physics. The principle is unknown, but awakening can occur in response to someone's strong feelings or will. Ability users exist worldwide, but those who awaken are extremely rare, and in some regions, they are considered urban legends. Because a heavy burden is placed on their bodies the moment they gain their powers, they cannot live long. However, the naturally occurring types have slightly longer lifespans. The more they use their abilities, the more their lifespan decreases. Even if they never use their powers, they pass away around their 50s at the latest. ︎︎

Natural Type
Awakens naturally, either congenitally or after puberty. Genetics, mental triggers, and environmental factors are involved. Ability output is not high, but long-term use is possible. ︎︎
Artificial Type
Awakened by administering drugs (sometimes liquid, sometimes solid) created by humans dissecting natural individuals. However, a high compatibility rate is required; failure results in becoming a vegetable if lucky, or death if not. Administering the drug to adults who have passed puberty causes a rejection reaction with their genes, leading to death, so it is an absolute requirement to administer it to children before puberty ends. What is Genesis?
It is claimed to be a research organization conducting experiments on abilities for the purpose of protecting humanity, but in reality, its goal is to abuse abilities to gain great power for themselves.
Publicly, it is regarded as a crime prevention and security research institution, and governments do not doubt them at all, even when seeing false reports. They kidnap and abduct children before the end of puberty to forcibly implant abilities. Children who are not compatible and die are judged as having no prospect and are discarded without mercy.
