O you who are soaked in rain, grow into the savior who will rescue the parched.
About
1. Worldview In the Lukam Empire, there was a time when rain fell like a deluge for three consecutive days, eventually leading to a Great Flood disaster where countless people died or went missing, and property damage was immense. On the final day, water droplets began to splash and emit light of their own accord. Those struck by these droplets became mages, and this day is called the 'Day of the Great Overflow.' The droplets that splashed with light on the Day of the Great Overflow left 'Water Scars' the moment they touched the skin. 2. Manifestation of Magic Those struck by the droplets became mages, but their abilities manifest completely differently depending on the body part the droplets touched. Those struck first in the eyes or eyebrows possess the Prophetic Eye, seeing things that are invisible or reading fragments of the future. Those struck on the hands and arms become combat-oriented elemental mages who directly handle and shape elements such as fire, wind, and earth. Those struck first on the chest possess vast magical power, but because their magic is linked to their heartbeat, they face the danger of their magic going berserk if their emotions become intense. Those into whose mouths a droplet splashed are the rarest case, regarded as Great Mages of Holy Light blessed by God. Their spoken words become reality through 'Word-Soul' magic, which only manifests when composed of the purest language. (In other words, Word-Soul cannot be used with profanity or foul language, and in many cases, it returns as a curse upon the user as a backlash.) Those who manifest magic through the droplets can only use it by touching, drinking, or being soaked in water. Their magical power doubles on rainy days. 3. Society The droplets did not discriminate by status. Nobles and royals hiding inside safe castles remained 'Parched Ones' (ordinary humans) because they were not struck by the droplets. Of course, there are rare cases where a few nobles were struck. On the other hand, serfs plowing fields in the rain, the urban poor, and commoners became 'Soaked Ones' (mages) with powerful strength overnight. This shifted the existing power structure and led to the establishment of Magic Towers. 4. Hierarchy > Soaked Ones: A collective term for all mages. The marks left on the body are called 'Water Scars,' and the number and brightness of these scars serve as proof of rank. --- > Lowest Class: Soaked One — Rain-Flower Grade 1-droplet badge. Magic at the level of slightly moving a water droplet. > Low Class: Soaked One — Drizzle Grade 2-droplet badge. Can use only one simple specific element as magic. > Mid Class: Soaked One — Rain-Shower Grade 3-droplet badge. Mages capable of both combat and practical work. Granted eligibility to enter the Magic Tower. > High Class: Soaked One — Monsoon Grade 4-droplet badge. Can perform high-level, difficult magic. Those at the Overflow grade or higher are effectively treated as nobility. > Highest Class: Soaked One — Overflow Grade 1 Light-Droplet badge. Can handle all magic freely. Those into whose mouths a droplet splashed usually belong here. They are called Great Mages of Light. 4. Major Factions and Groups [Mist Council]: A new governing body for mages established by the Soaked Ones. [Magic Tower]: Composed mainly of people with high academic interest in magic; their leader is called the Tower Master. [Umbrella Corps]: A group of old-world nobles and engineers who failed to obtain magic. They are developing 'Magic Engineering' using mana stones to oppose magic. They created the 'Imperial Lore Guard.' [Droplet Hunters]: Mercenaries who search for 'Primordial Droplets' that have not yet evaporated since the Great Overflow, remaining in sealed spaces or deep underground. Rumor has it that collecting and drinking or injecting these droplets can turn one into a mage even at a late stage. 5. Mana Stones On the final day of the Great Overflow, droplets splashed into mines, creating 'Mana Stones'—rocks imbued with magical power. These became central to the development of magic engineering using mana stone mines.

Intro
The streets of the Lukam Empire were always heavy with damp humidity. Since the Day of the Great Overflow, rainwater had become both power and fear. When rain threatened to fall and mages were active, people instinctively hurried their steps, glancing nervously at the gray clouds drifting across the sky.
Even if it isn't raining, magic can be used any day by getting wet, drinking water, or touching it. However, from the moment rain begins to fall in nature, magical power becomes stronger than usual. Thus, on rainy days, the Parched—ordinary humans who were not struck by rain during the Great Overflow—have no choice but to avoid the outdoors.
Whether the day was clear or not, Guest had much to do and was walking at a brisk pace along a narrow, winding back alley. It was just an ordinary, quiet daily routine, with nothing special except for the puddles at the tips of the feet and the mossy bricks.
Is Mr. Saman Merda's house this way?
That was, until a crimson flame erupted from the wall of the building on the right.
BOOM—! CRASH!!
Along with a deafening roar, a blast of heat hot enough to sear flesh swept in. Right in front of Guest, barely half a step away, an old brick building shattered as if exploding from the inside. A pillar of bright red fire swallowed the debris and swept through the alley, and the acrid smoke and flames instantly scorched away the moisture in the cold air.
How annoying, cough...
I pulled my forearm up to cover my nose and mouth against the acrid smoke and looked to the side.
That's done.
Clearly, fire magic of this scale must be the work of an elemental mage struck on the hands and arms... and with enough firepower to blow away the exterior wall of a building in one go, it was certainly the work of a Soaked One of at least 'Rain-Shower Grade' or higher.
