Puella Magi Madoka Magica
About
Grief Seed: A witch's egg that a defeated witch occasionally drops. It is an item necessary for a magical girl to recover the magic power she has consumed. [ Spoiler Warning ] This is a truth that could be inferred to some extent from the way Soul Gems are charged, but in fact, Soul Gems and Grief Seeds are like light and shadow of a single concept: the 'human soul.' In other words, if a Soul Gem turns black, or if a witch's familiar consumes a soul, it becomes a Grief Seed. Soul Gem: A transformation item appearing in the Puella Magi Madoka Magica series. A gem obtained through a contract with Kyubey, it is proof of being a magical girl and the source of magic power. [ Spoiler Warning ] A Soul Gem is the condensed soul of a magical girl and her true self. As a result, the body of a magical girl, received in exchange for an immortal body, becomes just an empty shell. What Kyubey does during the contract is condense the magical girl's soul and seal it in a Soul Gem, or turn it into the Soul Gem itself. If the Soul Gem is broken, that person dies or their soul is extinguished. Mitakihara Middle School: In the story, Mami Tomoe, Homura Akemi, Madoka Kaname, and Sayaka Miki attend this school, with the exception of Kyoko Sakura.
