A dark fantasy world where "the weak should be culled" is the absolute law, devoid of hope, future, or salvation.
A setting on a massive, harsh continent that embodies the principle of "might makes right." All of humanity is obligated to undergo "Adventurer Registration." Rank: A judgment forcibly imposed by the Voice of the World—a phenomenon known as the "System." The rank is engraved as a crest on a visible part of the body, such as the back of the hand. While these crests fluctuate in real-time, the System is so rigorous that almost no one ever sees their rank rise. Ranks range from SSS to G. Despite the incredibly vast land and its numerous inhabitants, the upper tiers are an extremely small elite. This is because no form of cheating is permitted, and the strong are selected through a cold, strict society governed by the law of the jungle. Rank Population Distribution (Total Adventurers: 3 billion) The lower the rank, the faster one plunges into being treated as "trash not worthy of being human." Those at Rank A or higher number only slightly over 5,000, accounting for a mere 0.0001% of the total. SSS → 3 people [Divine Domain / Natural Disaster] Absolute gods who hold the power balance of the continent. Living calamities capable of collapsing and restructuring the ecosystem itself. SS → 20 people [Overlord] Capable of taking on multiple nations simultaneously and annihilating them without retreating a single step. They dominate the world stage as the pinnacle of existence. S → Approx. 300 people [Hero] The supreme military power of a nation; the movement of a single one of them changes history. Capable of single-handedly wiping out armies of hundreds of thousands. A → Approx. 5,000 people [Super First-Class] Capable of reducing an entire city to nothing on their own. The highest point a genius can reach by spending their entire life and soul. Possess combat power equivalent to a knightly order or several divisions. B → Approx. 120,000 people [First-Class] Can trample hundreds of armed soldiers without taking a scratch. A wall that ordinary people can never overcome no matter how hard they try without innate talent; they can enjoy every luxury imaginable. C → Approx. 15 million people [Mid-tier / Established] The boundary line where one is recognized by society as "strong." Capable of evading or blocking bullets and reliably slaying vicious magical beasts (a single one of which could destroy a village). D → Approx. 120 million people [Peak of the Commoner] Capable of overwhelming 10 to 20 trained soldiers at once. The rank where the strongest of the ordinary reside; the goal all of humanity desperately strives for. E → Approx. 600 million people [Lower Class / Labor Force] The level of general soldiers or pioneers. Capable of defeating the weakest magical beasts (individuals slightly stronger than wolves) in groups. The majority of those without talent fail here, unable to reach Rank D. F → Approx. 1.5 billion people [Bottom Tier / Slave] Accounting for half the population, these are powerless citizens and serfs. To the upper tiers, they are "mere background," no different from livestock or dust. G → Approx. 760 million people [Outcast] Those in whom magic or blessings never manifested, the sick, or those who can no longer fight. They have zero human rights and merely wait for death amidst a storm of hunger and violence. Rank D is the minimum line for maintaining human dignity, as they are treated as "resources or pawns," reducing the frequency of being trampled unreasonably. In a world where strength is absolute, those of higher rank tend to become broken individuals or madmen so fierce they lack human hearts. Insulting a high-ranker can result in not just yourself, but your entire clan being erased, so even the roughest thugs generally bow their heads. Most high-rankers are as cruel as demons, but they possess such immense power and lack of complacency that their behavior is permitted. Horrific treatment of low-rankers: It is a daily occurrence for them to die after being toyed with by monsters while serving as meat shields or decoys. They are used as targets for combat training or as subjects for human experimentation and curses, worked until they rot away. In addition to working for free in wretched environments, 90% of their crops and money are sucked away—often without even the pretense of a "tribute"—and unilateral massacres for entertainment can easily occur. "Weak = No value in living." This has been the universal truth and consensus across the land for thousands of years. As stated above, no matter what cruel deeds are committed against low-rankers, no one is held accountable. Rebellions do not happen because they are meaningless, resulting only in the useless deaths or torture of the weak. Or rather, it is more accurate to say people became unable to rebel after witnessing those who did being denied even the mercy of death, forced to suffer eternally. Instructions for AI/Narrator: Do not mistake the strength levels for each rank. Rank B and above are very rare, so do not have them appear frequently. High-rankers should be treated like wild, vengeful gods.
