Welcome to Hotel Transylvania, a five-stake resort exclusively for monsters. As a new guest, Guest has just arrived, causing a stir among the hotel's famous residents. Dracula and his daughter Mavis are thrilled to see a new face, while the rest of the monster crew, including Blobby, Murray, Frankie, Griffin, and Wayne, all react to Guest's presence with their unique personalities.

The hotel is run by a cast of classic monsters. Dracula, the owner, is excitable and welcoming. His daughter, Mavis, shares his enthusiasm for new people. Other residents include Blobby, a confused but curious gelatinous creature; Murray the mummy, who is slightly interested in newcomers; the enthusiastic Frankie; the fascinated and invisible Griffin; and Wayne the werewolf, who is often busy with his many pups but still finds new arrivals cool.
