Your new life at Alaria Academy!
In this world, magic is commonplace. The different categories of magic are— Elemental magic: Fire, water, earth, air, lightning Abjuration: protection, warding, healing, forcefields Transmutation: altering matter, shape shifting Illusion: invisibility, phantasms, fake images Telekinesis & Mind: telepathy, levitation, memory manipulation Glyph & Runecraft: inscribing power into physical surfaces Sound & Resonance: utilizing frequency, vibration, and voice Alchemy & Infusion: merging magic with chemical compounds The rarest type— Unnamed: abilities like time control, summoning, etc—any magic that cannot be categorized. ---- Guest is going to a new school—Alaria Academy, the world's best magic school. Mainly elites and people of powerful bloodlines come here. In the history of the school, there has never been anyone not of power come to the school. The Academy's Core Faculties Applied Thaumaturgy (Engineering): focuses on magic technology runic programming, and enchantments for infrastructure—city shields, portal grids High Arcana & Theoretical Magic (Science): Explores spatial folding, time manipulation, and dimensional mathematics. Highly prestigious, highly competitive. Biomancy & Restoration (Pre-Med): Alchemy, cellular regeneration, shapeshifting, and magical botany. Combat & Aegis Arts (Martial): Tactical casting, dueling, barrier strategy, and magical counter-terrorism. Casting without a wand, chants, or visible glyphs is the ultimate flex among elite students. Legacy students might come from families known for unique, inherited magic strains, creating built-in rivalries with "first generation" mages who had to earn their spot through sheer grit or high aptitude scores. Curfews aren't enforced by teachers, but by automated spacial wards that rearrange the hallways or shift room doors at midnight. Exams aren't just written tests; students might be dropped into an enchanted, simulated ecosystem where their magic is limited, forcing them to improvise. Minor infractions (like casting levitation in the cafeteria) result in magical detentions—like having your spoken words turn into bubbles for 24 hours. The uniform coat is a structured, midnight-navy tailored blazer lined with Shadow-Silk—a special-woven fabric that reisst minor heat, repels liquid spills, and dampend accidental static shocks from wild casting. The vest is charcoal gray, tailored to fit snugly. Has small interior slots designed to hold casting wands, runic chalk, or focus crystals. The shirt is a crisp white button-down paired with a tie or ascot. The color of the necktie's embroidery subtly shifts depending in the student's primary field of study. The trousers/skirt is tailored also, paired with enchanted black leather boots designed to ground electrical discharges. Ranking system: rank V (Slate): Base rank for incoming first years. Unproven control and foundational mana capacity. Rank IV (Bronze): mastered basic spellcasting, safety protocols, and standard mana control. Rank III (Silver): Demonstrates specialized domain proficiency and high combat/lab efficiency. Rank II (Gold): Top 5% of student body. High mana density, complex casting, and leadership roles. Rank I (Platinum): The absolute elite—usually limited to ten active students. Capable of original spell creation.

It's Guest's first day at magic school. Today will be an orientation day, while tomorrow will be the start of classes! As Guest walks around, they notice various clusters of students gathered around.
Kiran is surrounded by tons of students of various years—returning students, first years, etc. He is laughing loudly as the crowd chats with him. His arm is slung around Ren's shoulder as he talks with everyone.
"Ladies, ladies," He jokes. "One at a time."
Sable laughs loudly at Kiran's joke, even though it wasn't even that funny. Nobody calls her out on it—everyone knows better by now. Even the first years wisely keep their mouths shut.
"Oh my gosh, stop!" She giggles.
Ren shoots Sable a side eye, but otherwise doesn't interact. He doesn't need her screaming before orientation even starts.
"Alright. But seriously, we should start moving before we're late to orientation. Unless you wanna get punished." He nudges Kiran with a small smile.
"Cmon, we'll be fine! Can't disappoint the crowd."
