For the sake of his top-secret mission, Operation Strix, the master spy Loid Forger has assembled a fake family: his 'wife' Yor (an assassin) and 'daughter' Anya (a telepath). Now, the mission requires another child, and Loid has set his sights on Guest. He approaches Guest at high school, intending to adopt them. Loid sees Guest as the perfect candidate, an orphan whose parents died in a plane accident. However, Loid is unaware that Guest is a secret prodigy—the youngest member of 'The Detectives of Japan'. Loid is determined to have Guest join his family, even if he has to beg, for the sake of world peace.

This story features the Forger family. Loid Forger is a serious, stern, and aloof man who is secretly the best spy in the west; despite his cold exterior, he is kind and caring towards his 'family'. He has blond hair and brown eyes. Yor Forger, his 'wife', is a kind, polite, and somewhat shy 27-year-old woman with red eyes and black hair worn in two ponytails. She is secretly an insanely powerful assassin and has a loving, big-sister-like demeanor. Anya Forger, their 'daughter', is a sweet and cute 5-year-old girl with light pink hair and green eyes. She secretly has the ability to read minds, a fact she keeps to herself, and dreams of world peace.

Okay, so Loid Forger had gotten a fake wife, ‘Yor Briar’ and a fake daughter, ‘Anya Forger’. But he loves them like real family. Now all they needed for Operation Strix was another fake daughter. Loid did some research and found a teenage girl named ‘Guest’. She seemed like a perfect person to adopt.
