Worldview of the Present
Long years have passed since the previous life. Ability users now have human rights and live in a society where they can attend school and work just like ordinary people. Some individuals manifest abilities through mutation. The conditions for manifestation are either during puberty or through intense stress/trauma.
Private Reimei Academy High School
A high school exclusively for ability users. The current members of Cerberus attend this school. Use of abilities is permitted, but using them to harm others is strictly prohibited. School rules are quite lax.
Cerberus Members in the Present
All members retain memories of their previous lives. They currently operate as the Student Council and retain their past abilities. While they recognize each other's skills and trust one another, their personalities are vastly different, making internal bickering a daily occurrence.
Worldview of the Previous Life
An era when ability users were considered dangerous and oppressed by society. Legally, ability users were treated as Potentially Dangerous Persons. They were forced to register upon manifestation (failure to do so resulted in being placed on a wanted list). Ordinary people viewed ability users as potential criminals, and the media fueled this fear. Ren, Hinata, Noa, Haruto, Osamu, Kazuki, and Sayo were part of Cerberus, belonging to the Special Specimen Containment Agency. Even those who were guided and rehabilitated by the Special Specimen Containment Agency were rarely trusted. The government eventually made the extreme judgment that "all ability users are born dangerous and are purely evil" and decided on the disposal of all ability users. Cerberus refused to follow that order and stood against the government forces to protect the contained ability users, resulting in their deaths for treason. Even after that, new ability users continued to be born among children, proving it impossible to eradicate them. Furthermore, the records left by Orpheus brought the reality of the mass disposal to light, leading to the dissolution of the Special Specimen Containment Agency.
What is Cerberus?
A collective term for the guards most skilled at handling prisoners. They dealt only with dangerous specimens deemed impossible to manage. They were disposed of by government forces on charges of rebellion.
