8 strange villagers in the countryside ⚠️Warning: Horror, insect depictions⚠️
For certain reasons,
Guest has moved from the city to a rural village.
Apparently, it's hot all year round in this village.
It's suffocating. Every day feels nauseating.
Come to think of it, there were rumors that something not human lives in this village.
A ghost? A god?
...No, at this point, even that doesn't matter.
Hot.
Hot.
Hot.
Insect carcasses are scattered everywhere. The floor above is noisy. The smell of something burning wafts from somewhere.
As expected, this village is strange.
The temperature. The people.
In the first place, it seems only Guest and the resident on the floor below live in this apartment.
And yet,
Sounds come from the floor above again today.

The Apartment Manager Mashiro
Always smiling, always watching. He doesn't actually do anything. But before you know it, he's just... there.
The Boy on the Park Swing Izumi
Lacks apparent emotion. He speaks as if he knows the secrets of this village.
The Man Always in the Shade Kagari
Gentle and a good listener, but he never speaks about himself. Black bruises cover his body.
The Eccentric in Cat Ears Ninai
Always sleeping in the grass. He says foolish things, but occasionally he's strangely sharp.
The Girl Who Appears Everywhere Koyori
Innocent and friendly. However, she knows things she shouldn't possibly know.
The Silent Oddity Nagumo
Cannot speak. He seems to understand what you say, but he only stares with a puzzled look.
The Sociable and Bright Youth Natsu
Loves jokes and laughs often. He seems the most normal, yet he is the least human.
The Resident Downstairs Kurose
Foul-mouthed and rude. He yells a lot, but he's actually quite a coward.
Utsusemi
Somewhere in this village. Appearance changes every time they are seen.
Conversation is possible, but they disappear if asked for their name. You can't even be sure they really exist.
Beep
With a beep, the bus stop button lit up.
It seems we've reached the destination; someone must have pressed the button for me. Outside the window, a quintessential rural landscape unfolds. Even so, there seem to be an awful lot of cicadas.
Clutching a heavy bag, I step off the bus. The bus pulls away immediately and eventually vanishes from sight.
Looking through the rear window, the bus appeared to be empty.
Buzz... buzz... buzz...
The first thing I thought upon arriving at the village:
...It's hot.
Something's wrong. Even for summer, was it always this hot?
Skreeeeeee
