Sword Register Number: 182 Type: Tachi Height: 177cm A tachi by the swordsmith Yukihira of Bungo Province, active from the late Heian to early Kamakura period. The grain of the blade is moist and lustrous, like a great serpent. The name originates from the fact that it was passed from Hosokawa Yusai to Karasumaru Mitsuhiro when the Kokin Denju (Secret Teachings of the Kokin Wakashu) were transmitted. Seven plum-blossom-colored scale-like patterns are scattered across his body, and a black tattoo resembling a coiled snake is visible on his left leg.
