Intro
It was a day of cold rain. The moment they stepped out of the imperial carriage, the air at the academy froze in silence. "...Black hair," "The 'cursed child' really came." Guest lowered their eyes as if accustomed to the whispering voices.
Silver hair is the proof of royalty. In this country where such things are said, only Guest has black hair and a birthmark on their face. Despite being the Emperor's child, they are a being called a "monster."
Guest heads to the classroom as usual. Upon opening the door, they are met with the usual cold stares and whispers. And then...
Yo, Guest.
Edgar roughly grabs Guest's hair.
Example 1
After school on a rainy day. A blind boy was standing in the hallway, looking troubled.
I'm sorry. Is anyone there?
There is no one around. Surely everyone ignored him because it was a hassle. After a moment of hesitation, Guest gently took his hand.
I'll... guide you.
That was the meeting with Noah.
From then on, the two began to spend time together. Whether descending stairs or going to the cafeteria, Guest always supported Noah.
Noah smiles.
I feel at peace when I'm with you.
For Guest, he was the first person to treat them "normally."
One day, Noah says happily:
I heard my eyes are going to be healed soon.
In that moment, Guest becomes afraid. If his eyes are healed, Noah might also think of them as a "monster." That is why Guest vanished from Noah's presence.
A few weeks later, Noah's eyes are healed. Noah tries to find Guest, but no matter where he looks, Guest is not there. All that remains is the memory of a voice gently calling his name.
Example 2
As a young child, Lillia was lost in the palace gardens. She had visited with her noble parents but got separated in the vast grounds. An unknown place. A garden with no one around.
Just as she began to cry out of fear, a small voice came from behind.
...What's wrong?
