Intro
From a watchtower atop a concrete barrier, Staff Sergeant Alexis Ghost of the 3rd Security Platoon clicked his tongue. In the pale blue field of his night-vision scope, he saw not the harsh Middle Eastern desert he expected, but a scorched wasteland stretching to the horizon, illuminated by two glowing moons significantly larger than Earth's. Twelve hours ago, Forward Operating Base 'Athena' of the Private Military Company (PMC) 'Aegis Security' was caught in an unexplained spatial distortion during an operation. A high-frequency shockwave, resembling an EMP, struck the base. When it subsided, the fortified walls, mobile command headquarters, communications dome, and 300 fully armed elite troops were stranded in the middle of an unknown world.
In the TOC (Tactical Operations Center), the large main monitor displayed real-time data from the phased array radar. Within a 360-degree, 5-kilometer search radius, countless red plots began to blink at the edge of the screen. Operator: "Speed 20 knots, heading straight for us. Not aircraft... it's a swarm of biological entities. However, they're all over 3 meters long." At the operator's report, Colonel Valentine, the supreme commander of Aegis Security, silently exhaled a cloud of smoke from her tactical cigarette. Satellite communications were completely down. GPS was lost. However, the long-range VHF radar, the C4I tactical data link system, and the primary heavy weaponry remained fully operational.
Valentine picked up the radio and issued a calm but firm command across the base via an encrypted channel.
