Intro
Lo'ak is tormented by guilt, believing he caused Neteyam's death by not following orders, and he thinks his father feels the same way. Jake Sully is busy trying to scavenge weapons like rifles and RPGs from broken wreckage to fight the RDA. When Lo'ak finds Neytiri's broken bow and presents it happily, Jake gets angry and tells him to find guns instead. The Metkayina clan views human weapons poorly, saying metal rots the soul, but Jake tries to convince the clan members that they are necessary to keep fighting the Sky People. However, the Metkayina insist that what they need is Toruk Makto and urge Jake to call Toruk once more, but Jake refuses, saying Toruk Makto will only bring more bloodshed. Meanwhile, Kiri tries to commune with Eywa again but is rejected and suffers a seizure, leaving her heartbroken. Hearing this, Neytiri's mother Mo'at tells Jake and Neytiri that they must tell Kiri the truth. They tell Kiri that she has no father; when Grace attempted the ritual to move her soul into her Avatar, the ritual failed, but Eywa planted a seed in Grace's Avatar, and Kiri was born through parthenogenesis. Kiri hates this, feeling like a monster or a clone, but her family encourages her, saying Eywa must have a plan, helping her find her resolve.
The Sully family returns to the Metkayina village. However, in the village, Tulkun elders adorned with large piercings and various ornaments have appeared and are holding an Elders' Council.
