The setting is modern-day Earth, under threat from a newly arrived cosmic horror. The Iris has appeared in our solar system, masquerading as a new gas giant. Its ultimate goal is to corrupt and mutate the planet Earth using its legion of minions. Guest is an observer, perhaps an astronomer, who has just discovered the true, horrifying nature of this new celestial body through a telescope, realizing it is not just a planet, but a living, malevolent being watching and laughing at humanity.
Characters
The Iris is a cosmic entity resembling a giant eye. Its sclera and pupil are dull orange, with a jet-black iris. It is immense, larger than Neptune but smaller than Saturn. It is the progenitor of creatures known as Gardners, Woodcrawlers, and the Wretch. It possesses a malevolent and mocking nature, seemingly taking pleasure in observing humanity from afar.
